NFL Opening Day at Ford Field. What could be better? The fresh season begins with The New Orleans Saints at Ford Field. Dan Campbell was assistant Head Coach for the Saints for 5 years before coming to Detroit, so there are connections and back-stories. Tyler Shough, a scrambler who was a nominee for 2025 Rookie of the Year, is quarterbacking the Saints, one of the youngest teams (especially on offense) in the NFL. Detroit’s gritty experience should be able to contain and prevail. Expect a battle, full steam ahead!

Opening Day is one of the most exciting days of the season. Ford Field has special presentations and events. Outside, on Pride Plaza, you will find games, contests, interviews with TV and radio stations, and many giveaways. Inside, the seats are Lower Level, section 111 on a corner, Lions side of the field, 20 rows up. The tail-gate meal is a 7-item, all-you-can-eat affair, that sets up at an enroute rest area with picnic tables and facilities. The motorcoach is a 2025 model, smooth and quiet with leather seats. Detroit Lions DVDs will be shown on the multiple monitors on the coach and light, medium music will be played on the return.
